Music magazine promotion via the internet

The internet has become a vital way of promoting products for free. The internet has become a huge forum for many people of all ages but particularly the younger generation who are often into the latest technologies that have access to the internet via there mobile phones. 

Apps are also a very new way of using the internet and can be downloaded at the click of a button. During my research I have found that many magazines have there own apps were fans can subscribe to their chosen magazine and therefore paying the company for there magazine earning the magazine more money. These apps offer a shortened less detailed version of the article within the magazine, as well as there web page also doing this, they do this so that the reader can still catch up on the latest news but will also be prompted to still go and buy the magazine issue. 

As a part of my promotion I will use social networking sites as a way to spread the word about my magazine. Social networking sites use groups or official pages to promote the latest news about a product. For example Billboard magazine and Rolling Stones magazine use there official twitter pages to attract the attention of fan bases when an established artist is the main feature within the magazine. This is a good way to attract an audience before the issue of the magazine is released. 

On Facebook magazines give regular updates about the next issue of there magazine before it's release giving enough time for word of mouth to spread.
